LEATHER SKETCHBOOK WORKSHOP

Come join us at Revolution in Manchester at Parsonage Gardens for a hands-on Leather Sketchbook Workshop! Unleash your creativity and craft your very own leather sketchbook from scratch. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the process to unique sketchbook.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a new skill and create a personalised keepsake.
All materials are included including a lovely range of colours. We are upcycling real leather as reclaimed waste from manufacturing, and high quality recycled paper
All to make the perfect upcycled quality sketchbooks/ notebook (Vegan leather also available).

MOSAIC IN A DAY
Location: Bolton
Saturday 1st March 11.00am - 3.30pm
Artist Caroline Coates will provide step-by-step guidance to create your own upcycled mosaic. This day-long session will guide you through the design phase and all the way through to grouting your final piece, using up-cycled materials throughout.
All materials will be provided, including tiles in a large range of colours. The event is for adults only, aged 14 and over.
This workshop is run in partnership with Breakdown Bolton and helps raise money for their work https://www.breakdownbolton.com
This is a full day workshop with a break for lunch. Tea and coffees are provided but not lunch, so please bring with you. Alternatively there is a Costa and other places near by to purchase lunch.

INTRODUCTION TO JESMONITE

Explore the wonders of eco-friendly jesmonite and create your own homewares and decorative pieces with artist and maker Caroline Coates from Creative Coati using a variety of geometric moulds. Jesmonite is a versatile material that will create a different outcome every time - you'll learn how to weigh it, mix it, add colours and textural effects to create something unique to you.
Make 3 pieces and choose from a selection of moulds including tricket trays, coasters, small plant pots and various decorative shapes there really is something from everyone.
Caroline will share tips, trade secrets and techniques to achieve a perfect finish (all materials provided).

RESIN JEWELLERY (2 PART COURSE)

Put a totally new twist on tiny keepsakes, shiny trinkets and make mini works of modern art by preserving them forever in gorgeously modern hand crafted pieces of resin jewellery.
Over two sessions Caroline Coates will teach you how to mix, pour and cast the resin choosing from our range of mini moulds, giving a new lease of life to any personal mementos you bring along. Showcase buttons and pearls, photos and text, fragments of old letters, maps, flags, scrabble letters – the list is endless and anything goes!
You’ll make five pieces and you can choose from a pendant necklace, a pair of earrings, brooch, ring, magnet or keyring. Then in the second part of the course, get to grips with basic jewellery making techniques and how to turn your creations into wearable pieces.

ARM KNITTED BLANKET
Location: Eccles (Bamber)
Saturday 8th March 2.00 - 4.30pm
Come and join Caroline Coates for a super satisfying arm knitting workshop and take home your own super chunky, snuggly blanket! This class is suitable for total beginners – no knitting or crafting experience is required. You’ll be taught how to use your arms as knitting needles and you’ll create your whole blanket before the workshop has ended.
Your finished blanket will measure approximately 150cm x 80cm. The exact size will vary depending on the tension of your yarn and the size of your stitches. This is what makes every blanket so unique. We will teach you how to cast on, knit the stitches, cast off and how to keep your blanket in tip top condition.
Groups are kept small to ensure you have lots of time with the tutor top create the best quality finish.
In addition to your ticket you'll have to purchase a ball of luxurious vegan giant wool here from Creative Coati (£39.75) from a variety of amazing colours and it will be waiting for you at the workshop and will save you the delivery cost.

3D NEEDLE FELTED ANIMALS

Ready to get violent with a needle and some fibres? Then enter the wonderful world of needle-felted animals with Caroline Coates from Creative Coati.
With each stab of the needle, the fibres catch, twist and snarl and from this violence might emerge a seasonal chick, a spring bunny or delicate mouse.
Caroline will show you how to needle felt step by step to create a stunning animal figure, meticulously sculpted from felt, transforming a material so soft into something solid, structured and with intricate detail.
You will be amazed at the results you can achieve in just a few hours and will go away with a creation to be proud of (you may also release some tension in the process)!

LEARN TO KNIT

There has never been a better time to pick up those needles and get them clacking! Caroline Coates from Creative Coati will take you step by step through the basics, leaving you confident and wanting more!
Start by mastering the basic knit and purl stitches, casting on and off, then move on to garter and stocking stitch while becoming familiar with the needles (which you get to keep).
During the workshop you will knit a super useful cotton face cloth (or dish cloth), not only great for the environment but a perfect starters project to practice your knitting techniques. Made from 100% cotton, it will be soft to use and machine washable to be used over and over, just one step further in helping to reduce waste.
In no time you’ll find yourself knitting, not only in front of the TV, but in the park, on the bus, the possibilities are endless. We promise you’ll be addicted and we'll send you off with your knitting needles to continue your new found skill at home!
